JTET Educational Qualification 2026

JTET Educational Qualification 2026 differs for Paper 1 (Primary Level) and Paper 2 (Upper Primary Level). Candidates must fulfil the required eligibility criteria based on the level they are applying for.

JTET Paper 1 (Primary Level: Classes 1–5)

Candidates applying for JTET Paper 1 must have any one of the following qualifications:

Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year D.El.Ed (as per NCTE regulations, for candidates admitted after 09.12.2007)
Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a 2-year D.El.Ed (as per NCTE Regulations 2002, for candidates admitted before 09.12.2007)
Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year B.El.Ed
Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Special Education
Graduation with a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)

JTET Paper 2 (Upper Primary Level: Classes 6–8)

Candidates applying for JTET Paper 2 must have any one of the following qualifications:

Graduation (or equivalent) with a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)
Graduation with at least 50% marks and a B.Ed (as per NCTE norms, admitted after 29.07.2011)
Graduation with at least 45% marks and a B.Ed (as per NCTE Regulations)
Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year B.El.Ed
Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed
Graduation with at least 50% marks and B.Ed (Special Education)
Post Graduation with at least 55% marks and a 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed
